About Britain Electric

We are recognized as one of the largest electrical contractors in the Houston area and have completed numerous electrical construction, service, and maintenance projects. We have established a client list of many of Houston’s largest corporations and have worked continuously with some of them for over forty years. Offices were operated in Austin & Dallas to meet market demands but our main focus is on the Great city of Houston.

To be the best electrical contractor in Houston and provide maximum value to our clients. At Britain, there is no compromise to safety. We have a great deal of pride in the workmanship of our electricians and the reputation we have earned in over sixty years of successful projects.

History

Mr. R. H. Britain founded Britain Electric Company in Houston, Texas in 1947. For over sixty years, we have continuously operated from the same location at 2011 Dallas Avenue near downtown Houston. In 2017 Britain Electric moved its Corporate Office to the Energy Corridor section of Houston.

Our Employees

In addition to a full-time accounting staff and a CPA, our staff includes many Licensed Electricians, Licensed Master Electricians, Registered Professional Engineers, a Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional, a Certified Power Quality Professional, a Certified Plant Engineer, Project Managers, Purchasing Agents, Expeditors, and Estimators.

Management Team

The Britain management team emphasizes hands-on dedication to every project. Personal relationships with business owners, contractors, construction managers and vendors have fueled our growth in the Houston community. It is not unusual for many of our key employees to have tenure that exceeds 20 years.

Many of our Executive staff serve or have served, on the Board of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) as well as major industry committees. Also, several of our Executives have served on the Board of the Houston Electrical League, the Board of Directors-Houston AGC and the City of Houston Electrical Board.

Randy Radcliffe – President

Mr. Radcliffe with a BS and MBA has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry with specialties in finance, planning, and insurance.

Robert Brill – CFO

Mr. Brill is a Certified Public Accountant for over 15 years in the construction industry.

Martin Banks – EVP

MCInstCES Over 40 years in the construction industry with emphasis on major project management and control.

Gene Childers – Vice President – Special Projects

Mr. Childers has 45 years with Britain Electric as Project Manager and Vice President. Gene’s primary customer focus is with mechanical contractors; He currently is a Master Electrician.

Jeff McCrary – Vice President – Operations and Service Division

Mr. McCrary has over 30 yrs. Experience in the electrical contractor industry. He has held roles such as field supervisor, project manager, and currently is Vice President of company operations and service division. He currently is a Master Electrician.

Wayne Brinkmeyer – Vice President – Special Projects

Mr. Brinkmeyer has a BSEE; PE and 35 years’ experience electrical construction projects. A Master Electrician, a member of National Codes & Standards Committee (NECA). Former member, City of Houston Electrical Board. Former CEO and owner of Biddle Electric which later merged with Britain Electric Company.

Anthony Matranga – General Superintendent / Estimator

Mr. Matranga a licensed Journeyman Electrician under TDLR, has over 35 years of electrical contractor experience. He has held roles such as Apprentice, Journeyman, and General Foreman who spearheaded major install projects with companies such as Tellespen Construction, Austin Commercial, and Harvey Builders.

Michael Teel – Vice President – Special Projects and Medical Facilities

Mr. Teel has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry with specialties in electrical projects. He has held roles as a Foreman, Project Manager and currently is Vice President with concentration in medical facilities throughout the Houston Metropolitan area.

Jack Dillard – Project Manager

Mr. Dillard has over 20 years of experience in the electrical construction industry as General Foreman, Supervisor, and Estimator & Project Manager of new and remodels projects. Responsible for service and maintenance accounts in the Houston Downtown Central Business District.

Kevin Kingsbury – Project Manager

Mr. Kingsbury has been with Britain Electric for 11 years and with specialization in large projects and group startup jobs. He has held the role of General Foreman prior to advancing to Project Manager and has spearheaded project such as Ronald McDonald House, Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office Complex, Rice Tennis Facility and St. Johns School Great Hall.

Bill Schooley – Project Manager

Mr. Schooley has over 40 years in the electrical and construction industries. He has held roles such as General Foreman and spearheaded large projects up to and including new construction, service and maintenance accounts through the Houston Metropolitan area. A graduate from J. A. T.C (1975) and is a certified instructor for the Code of Excellence Program for IBEW716.

John Brinkmeyer – Project Manager

Mr. Brinkmeyer has over 35 years’ experience in the electrical field as a journeyman, general foreman, and on many construction and service and maintenance projects. He has been a Project manager since 2014, He is responsible for construction, service and maintenance projects in Houston and Southeast Texas. He has been a member of Britain Electric Co. team for 14 years.
